I’m so excited to get this in my hands! As a violet/purple/lavender lover, the Samsung Galaxy A22 is a must-have. In this blog post, I will share with you my honest thoughts about it.
As a content creator, I want to create nice quality content. That’s why if given a chance, I’ll upgrade my equipment to continuously produce high-quality photos and videos with ease. When I saw the launch of the Samsung Galaxy A22, I admit I really felt like getting this phone. I mean I think it has almost all the good things such as the great cameras, screen size, and all package in a neat design with a decent price. Samsung has been releasing powerful phones in their budget-friendly line which is enabling more creators to be confident in expressing their awesome talent and personality.

First, this smartphone offers the complete package: a stylish and eye-catching design, a vibrant display to watch content, and a powerful camera. The Galaxy A22 comes in a fun and colorful design. You can choose from striking pastel Violet, Mint, or the classic black and white variants. Obviously, I love the color violet and it is so pretty in person! It is the perfect shade of pastel violet, more like it is leaning to lavender. I also like the thinness of the phone and because of that, it is not heavy compared to others. My small hand can comfortably hold the phone for hours which is for me is important since I do shoot photos and videos for a long time. I don’t want to get tired just holding the phone.
So upon opening, the box contains the phone, earphones, and the charger which is for me a nice added touch since most of the phones released recently by other brands don’t include these accessories anymore. Like buying new chargers are quite a hassle and added expenses.

Moving on to the screen, vivid and realistic colors really pop out with its 6.4″ HD Super AMOLED display. I love watching the music videos of BTS on this phone since it really conveys the colorfulness of their MVs so well. Plus, the Samsung Galaxy A22 has an Eye Comfort Shield feature that reduces harmful blue light meaning I can watch BTS contents comfortably late at night without harming my eyes. Also, this phone is so efficient with its 90Hz refresh rate that I can scroll and switch apps faster and smoother.

For its camera, I must say it is quite impressive. The Samsung Galaxy A22 has a powerful Quad Rear Camera. It has a high-resolution 48MP main camera that captures clearer photos during the day and brighter shots at night. The camera is also equipped with an Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS) that keeps photos and footage steady perfect when shooting vlogs or TikTok videos. It is also with an 8MP Ultra-Wide, 2MP Macro, and 2MP Depth lenses. See the photos below for the output of the camera.
Take note these photos are unedited and taken inside a naturally lighted room. I just added texts so that you can recognize which camera mode I used for that certain photo. And upon using the phone for a month, I am well satisfied with its photo quality. I like how vivid the colors are in the photo. Also, it doesn’t have any photo noise even if my room is not that well lit. I didn’t have to use a ring light to have a brighter and clearer photo.
The Galaxy A22 also has a 13MP Selfie Camera that can capture delightful shots. It also has a wide-angle shot in selfie mode which is what I use quite often since I have short arms. Shooting selfie is much easier with that functionality. Plus, I prefer more the wide-angle because I want to capture more of the environment and the place which is most likely to be useful whenever you are traveling especially when you are just alone and no one is there to take a photo of you.

For the video, I can say it has a decent quality. Here is a sample video using the selfie or front camera. It is clear and the colors are quite realistic and near to actual. This is also captured while my air conditioner is on that’s why you can hear it in the background but it is just minimal. You can still hear the background music more.
♥︎ Battery Life ♥︎
After the design and the camera features, I do check the battery capacity of the phone. I want it to be on par with my activities also since I’m doing a lot of product shots and recording vlogs. I don’t want to be held down and be attached to the charger for a long time. Good thing, the Galaxy A22 can keep up not only with any creator’s imagination, but also their energy. The smartphone is packed with 5,000mAh of battery so I can shoot all day without running out of power. Plus the 15W Fast Charging feature lets me be more productive.
♥︎ Additional Features ♥︎
I also want to highlight my favorite additional features of this phone. First is the Fingerprint Scanner which is mounted to the side same as the power button. I do appreciate this kind of functionality even if it’s not new but I’m glad Samsung retained it. For me, fingerprint scanning is more safe and efficient. I do think it’s one of the smartest design decisions made by them.
The second one is the Palm Gesture Selfie function. This is so helpful for me as I do shoot myself a lot and it is quite difficult if I use timers and Bluetooth remote shutters. It is also helpful when we do group shots in selfie mode because it is quite hard to position our faces and press the capture button at the same time. These functionalities may be small and not new but I love that the Galaxy A22 still has this and it is very useful to me as a content creator.
