Samsung Galaxy A12 Unboxing and Quick Review

April 14, 2021

Aaaah! More selfies and photo content to come!! I’m so excited to try out my latest Samsung Galaxy A12.  I’ve heard that this is a great budget-friendly phone from Samsung. So, let’s test it out!

Last month, I’ve received this mobile phone and I’m so thrilled to get it. I do own a lot of Samsung mobile phones from the past. I bought my Samsung Galaxy S10 and Samsung Galaxy A20 (which I gifted to my mom) last 2019. I’m very happy with the two phones. In fact, I love s10 the most because it is so thin yet has the most powerful functionalities during that year. I even used it for all of my 2019 travels and all of my photos are so perfect! My favorite specs were the Ultra-Wide Angle camera lens. It helped me achieved my travel photo goals and I uploaded a lot on my Instagram last 2019.

Now, I got the Samsung Galaxy A12 which is known as Samsung’s entry-level and budget-friendly mobile phone. And it is indeed budget-friendly because you’ll get almost all the most recent functionalities of a phone within just a price of P9,990 SRP. To know more about the phone, let’s check out the specs!

♥︎ The Specs ♥︎

♥︎ Unboxing Video ♥︎

I’ve posted a quick unboxing video of the phone on my IG TV. If you want to check it out, please watch the embedded video below. I’ve shown the up-close shot of the design of the phone also tested the audio and the screen quality. In the video also, you can see where’s the lock button, camera, speakers, charging port, and other parts of the phone. Upon testing the colors of the LCD, I’ve used the Dynamite music video as it has a great range of colors so we can really see if the colors are vivid enough.

♥︎ Design ♥︎

I honestly love the design. Aside from the bright color, what got my attention was the diagonal stripe texture at the back. It contributes to improving its grip and pleasant to the eye. They used a plastic material at the back but it doesn’t look cheap at all. As you can see, the top part of the back contains the quad-camera which consists of the main camera, the ultra-wide-angle camera, the macro camera, and the depth camera. The front has an infinite display with the selfie or the front camera at the top part. It has a thin black outline at the sides as the screen is not full-on display. While at the side, you can find the fingerprint power/lock button, the volume buttons, the sim slot where you can put two nano SIMs, and a microSD card.

♥︎ Quad-camera ♥︎

As a lifestyle blogger, since I love taking photos and videos, I thought of focusing on testing out the camera features of the phone. This is my first functionality whenever I want to change my phone. So, I’m gonna show you the test shots that I’ve gathered with the Samsung Galaxy A12. See photos below.

Samsung Galaxy A12 Primary Camera

This is a test shot from the primary camera of the Samsung Galaxy A12. This was taken at night in a normal lit room. For me, it is quite good already since it captured the colors well and it is not grainy even with such a limited light source. The details of the words of the label are well-captured also.

And then here are the other lenses of the camera. I really like the ultra-wide angle lens as you can see it didn’t have much noise compared to other phones who have this lens also. Isn’t it obvious that I just love ultra-wide lens?  It’s totally my favorite! But what got my attention was the Pro mode of this phone. Like you don’t need to edit the ISO, White Balance, and the Exposure anymore. You can adjust it from the native camera itself! I love this function since a lot of cameras are mostly leaning toward warm tones. However, I prefer cool hues and brighter photos thus adjusting the White Balance and the Exposure before capturing a photo is a big plus to me. It’s like a mirrorless camera already! This is just wow. Like, check the difference from my test shot above.

♥︎ Front Camera ♥︎

For selfies, the front camera is quite decent. Even though I captured this shot at night with a decent lit room, I love the outcome! It’s not grainy, not blurry, and has a fair color pop. Also, the ultra-wide-angle mode didn’t have any noise and still got the black color. Usually, when you’re in a darker place, the noise will be seen on the black parts of the photo. The ultra-wide shot was perfect for me since I have short arms so the wide-angle captures more than just my face only. haha!

♥︎ Video Quality ♥︎

What surprised me was the video quality. Like omg?? It was really crystal clear! This is definitely perfect for people who aspire to be a vlogger. The colors are great, the details are there, and the brightness is enough. To be honest, I would like to film my videos from this phone starting now. If you want proof, I have a short clip uploaded below. Take note this video is taken at night in my limited lighted room.

♥︎ Inclusion Accessories ♥︎

The phone has decent inclusions. It comes with a 15W adaptor, a USB-C cable, and headphones. These are quite basic accessories but still very essential. I do hope Samsung will still include these in their upcoming phones since most of the other phone brands are slowly pulling one out slowly every release.

If you are or you want to be a content creator, this phone is a great entry point and test things out. So, that’s it! I hope you got something you need in this blog post and maybe you can say that this phone is finally the one for you. hihi ☺️
Thank you so much for reading this post. Till next time, sweeties! 💕
