If you know me, I’m kinda obsessed with colors. hehe! And I do love seeing my nails painted with different colors and designs. Now, I’m into Polygel nails and Stellar Beauty Lounge has been my go-to place for it!
One day, my cousin saw my post about my nails. Amazed about it, she referred me to try Polygel nail extensions in this certain Beauty Lounge. Since she’s a close cousin of mine, I trusted her and went there with her. Then, the next is history! I’ve been into Polygel nails since then.
So, what made me decide to go with Polygel nails? Well, a regular nail polish chips off easily, the gel polish can make your nails brittle and both can leave yellow stains. The acrylic nails are heavy and hard to shape. While Polygel is a nail enhancement with a hybrid formula of acrylic and gel polish. And because of that, it has both durability and flexibility of application. Another good thing about is that it does not have a strong odor and will not harm your natural nails. Plus, it is indeed long-lasting!
♥︎ Polygel Nails Process ♥︎
The whole process is similar to the acrylic nail extension but it is quite faster. The Polygel builder is easy to control thus nail technicians can create a new nail quicker. You can customize the length and shape also. Next, your nails will have to be cured under UV light. In comparison to acrylic nails, the Polygel doesn’t sting that much at all. After 30 to 60 seconds, the nails are all hardened. Then, your chosen gel polish color will be applied. Lastly, the painted nails are cured for another 30 to 60 seconds. You can add some rhinestones, stickers, or even nail art to make it more customized.

This design is my first from them. It was my cousin’s wedding and I want my nails to be pretty and chic. So I went with a simple yet elegant design. The motif color of the wedding was rose gold, so I choose a lighter shade of pink. Then I requested to add a few rhinestones to have that little shimmering effect.

♥︎ My Mikrosomos ♥︎
If you’re a BTS fan, you’ll know what Mikrosomos mean. Because I love the song so much, I decided to put it as an inspiration for the nail design. Basically, I wanted a “galaxy/universe” theme. I went with the shade lilac because I prefer pastel colors more. The glitters look like a million stars in a galaxy. Indeed, let’s “shine, dream, smile!” because “we shine in our own way”.

For this design, I wanted to have some summer vibes in it since I’m about to go on an island trip. So, I decided on a clear base and some pastel-colored dotted flowers. It was my first time trying the round shape and honestly, I love this more. The shape helped to look my fingers more sexy and elongated. I was quite nervous at first because I wasn’t sure if it suits me and my personality. But everything turns out so pretty.

This is my latest nail design. It’s so cute, right? Quite different from the past designs, this time I went with vibrant candy colors. And because I love how the round shape turns out, I went with the same shape this time as well. Which shape do you think suits my fingers well?

Stellar Beauty Lounge has 2 branches. Their first branch is located at Door 1, Obrero Suites, Palma Gil Street, Obrero. While their new and bigger branch is located at CM Recto Avenue (along Mercury Drugstore). I’ve been to both branches but you can see me always at their first branch. I love their minimalistic and elegant interiors. It can help you feel relaxed and at ease since the place is so cozy. Pro tip: Always book a reservation ahead at least a day before so that you will be catered to immediately when you get there. For me, time is precious so I always do call and ask for a reservation. Other than the nail services they have also other beauty services such as Gluta Drip, Facial, Slimming, Waxing, and many more.
♥︎ The Verdict ♥︎
I really love it! Looking at my colorful nails makes me happy lately. The whole process is much quicker and the nails stay long. In my experience, the longest time it lasted is about 1 month. My nails had already grown a lot by then and you can see the gap. But luckily the base was transparent so it doesn’t look that noticeable. Their nail technicians are kind and accommodating. They do all the things I’ve requested so far, especially for the nail art part.
Some people said that these designs are quirky and not everyone can pull this off. I kinda agree with them because I don’t work in a corporate world and the designs are quite loud for others. However, you can still create your own spin-off with these. Just choose the right color for you and find a more minimalist design. Don’t be afraid to try and express your personality more. Or you can just go and have fun with plain and basic colors!
