OOTD Diaries: The Pink Grand Ball Party

November 8, 2018
The holiday season is fast approaching now Halloween’s over. People are now excited planning for their company’s, school, or family Christmas parties. But aside from planning what food to bring, what are the games, and what gifts to bring, everyone is also brainstorming for what are their be wearing. It’s even more challenging if the party has a theme such as Red Carpet Grand Ball.

Last year, I attended The Davao Bloggers Society’s Christmas Ball. The dress code of the party is red carpet formal wear. So I started searching in the Internet for pegs for my outfit. Initially my plan is to wear something dressy and girly. I was thinking between a long ball gown or a flowy one. But then I thought that it would be really kinda expensive to achieve that since it would require more fabric and plus it’s more work for our seamstress. Also, I would look shorter if I’ll choose a long gown.

For the color, it was a total no brainer that I would wear a pastel pink outfit. It’s because it’s the time that I started loving the color pink. Also, the millennial pink color is currently on trend. Lucky for me, there were no specific color required for the dress code. I also thought of I should wear something unique and unexpected so that I’ll catch some attention during the party.

Then, I got an idea to wear a suit. But I was kinda half-hearted for the pants part. I don’t want to look short. Ugh, “short girl problems.” That’s why, I designed a dress suit. I was imagining that it’s kinda a half coat top and the lower part would be all frills to have an illusion that it is a short skirt. Since coats has a long sleeve design, I decided to create a slit so that I’ll be showing of more skin and to have an illusion of long arms even though I don’t have one. haha!

So, here’s the result of my customized pink dress suit!

Well, look at that makeup! I’m so proud that I did my makeup alone. Praise me, sweeties! haha. It’s totally a big deal to me because I actually just starting to learn how to put on makeup. Thanks to countless Youtube tutorials, workshops and one on one tip from our Davao Bloggers Glam Squad.

Davao Bloggers Society Christmas Ball 2018

Here’s me and my Davao Bloggers Society family! Can you spot me? Obviously the pink little girl at the side. haha! I’m so grateful to meet and work with these creative individuals. It was a really a night to remember. Everyone had fun and enjoyed the whole party. Some where given an award. I was nominated for the Lifestyle Blogger Award but sadly I didn’t make the cut. Fingers crossed that this year’s party I’ll win an award.

So, what do you think would be our theme for our Christmas party this year? What would I wear this time? I’m already excited as the same time quite stressed out because I’ll be doing so much brainstorming again. Hence, watch out what would be my outfit this year, sweeties! ♡
