OOTD Diaries: A Velvety New Year’s Eve

January 11, 2019

Happy New Year, sweeties! I’m just so excited for this new year to come. Another 365 days means another 365 chances. And maybe another 365 outfits as well?

Ummm, I think that would be impossible. hahaha! I love dressing up and all but it really takes too much time, effort and money. However, I would like to challenge myself to create, post and blog about my outfits more this year. I just find it relaxing whenever I succesfully posted something on my Instagram or in my blog. So, I hope I would be able to surpass my performance last 2018. Well, a big good luck to me! 😅

For today’s post I would like to show my outfit during the New Year’s Eve. As a tradition, I celebrated my New Year’s Eve with my relatives. I usually prepare for my outfit days before especially whenever there’s a special occasion. However, I was too busy handling some adult stuff and duties. So, I haven’t got a chance to buy a fabric and have it a custom made in our dress shop. I just visualized it that I must wear something velvet and pastel.

So, here comes the day. I ransacked my cabinet and looked for something nice and special. Luckily, I found this velvet top and a velvet skirt. But the bad news is that it’s not in pastel color. Well, you know me I love wearing any pink or pastel colored clothing. Then I thought, why not try it for a change?  I always wear pastels during occasions. Let 2019 be different.

♥︎ The Outfit ♥︎

I picked up the silver velvet off-shoulder top that I recently bought in an online shop in Instagram. Then match it with my black velvet skater skirt that I bought on sale in Forever 21. I also accesorized it with my lastest purchases from Lazada (Watch my Cute Lazada Haul here), which are the fluffy white earrings and the black wool beret hat. To finish the whole look, I grabbed my gray blocked heel pumps from Parisian.

I really wanted to push to wear something velvet. It’s because velvet fabrics are smooth and do have a soft appearance which totally matches my personality. And I was glad that it was in silver color because it gives a classy apperance and also a shining effect. What I am trying to say in my outfit is that I’m might be soft-spoken and shy but this 2019 I would like to shine more and show my talents.

2018 was just a start, and I would say I really had a big progress in that year. Now, I’m more motivated to continue and strive more. I’m claiming this would be my 2019 and it will be decorated with sweet memories, wonderful days and memorable nights. This is my year to sparkle! ✨
