Krispy Kreme, The home of our favorite Original Glazed Doughnuts, had a Y2K-themed birthday bash last July 23, 2022. And I was lucky to be invited!
I was so excited about this event when I was told that the theme was Y2K vibes. To the point, I even made a poll on my Instagram about what I should wear. Well, I’m just hyped up again since the physical events have been starting to go back slowly. But of course, the proper protocols were implemented and guests have been limited.
Upon arrival at the Krispy Kreme SM Ecoland branch, I was amazed at how decorated it fit the event theme. From the iridescent backdrop, the y2k iconic items such as Tamagotchis, brick games, rainbow slinky, funky shades, and of course topping it all off with famous early 2000s songs.
Why Y2K theme?
The Krispy Kreme Chief Operating Officer Sonny Tiong explained that this year’s celebration is a tribute to their Original Glazed doughnuts which is the very core of Krispy Kreme. These days, the younger generation brought back the Y2k trend but expressed it in their own twist. In the same way, Krispy Kreme adds their new delicious twist to the classic Krispy Kreme favorites as they offer it to the new generation or the New Originals.
I got to try their new offerings. The first one is the Chocolate Drip Cake. They put on their own twist on the traditional birthday cake. It comprises three tri-color chocolate cake piped in yellow, purple, and blue white chocolate, and birthday sprinkles. This is available in all Krispy Kreme stores until July 31 only.
They also have a new beverage which is the Mixed Berry Birthday Chiller. Krispy Kreme also launched a new birthday flavor for its line of Minis: the Mini Choco Glaze with Birthday Sprinkles. You can catch these two products until August 31 only!
After they’ve introduced their new offerings, they let us decorate our own donuts as well. There were a lot of different colors of icings, some sprinkles, and other toppings. I’ve enjoyed decorating the donuts. I felt like I was a kid again. And here’s my finished product! hehe
The whole event was fun and interactive. I got to see for the first time in 2 years some of my blogger friends from the Davao Bloggers Society.
