Love taking OOTD photos for your Instagram feed? Here are some of my favorite OOTD spots in Davao, malls edition!
Whenever you go out to the mall with your family and friends to do some shopping or just walking around, you usually dress up to look good and presentable with them. Sometimes it takes a couple of hours to decide what clothes to wear especially if there’s a special occasion or if you have a date or something. Some people go to the mall to do some errands, buy their groceries or they just want to avail the cool breeze of the aircon since it tends to be hot in Davao most of the time.
Dressing up is not that easy. It totally requires an effort! That’s why some people are proud and cherish what looks they have come up and posted plenty of photos of it in their social media accounts. And thus, #OOTD or Outfit Of The Day was born!
And I admit, I’m one of those people who consistently do that. It just gives me a certain kind of happiness when people see my outfits and it really boosts up my confidence whenever someone appreciates it.
So if your planning to do some OOTD shots in a mall, here are my favorite spots:
♥︎ Abreeza Ayala Mall ♥︎
1. Outside the CBTL
What I like about this angle is that you can see a leading line which is the hallway. Also, you can get the nice umbrella thing of the coffee shop plus the blue skies and the green trees.
2. Outside Italiani’s
Few people pass by this area that is why this is an ideal spot to take some OOTD shots. No one will disturb you plus you’ll not be conscious because no one will be watching. There is also a tall condo which is a nice background that gives you a city vibe.
Pro tip: This spot is perfect for night time shots because of the lights from the condo and also from the signages of the malls are turned on which gives a level up effect.

♥︎ SM Lanang Premier ♥︎
1. Fountain Court
In this spot, you can play with your shadow gaming. The lines from the architectural design of the mall and the shadows of it gives a unique effect to your photo. Your followers will definitely stop scrolling and double tap your post to give it a heart!
2. Sky Garden
In this portion of the mall, there are plenty of OOTD spots. My favorite would be at the very end of it where you can see the beautiful sky, the green plants, and the cute water fountain.

♥︎ SM City Ecoland ♥︎
1. The parking lot
The parking lot of this mall is quite huge, meaning you can definitely find a perfect spot here. I love it here during the Holiday season. It’s because of their Christmas lights are up. It looks nice if you know how to achieve a bokeh effect with their lights. For sure, you’ll get such dreamy photo. So much Christmas vibes!
2. Department Store Home Section
This part of the mall is quite crowded. But the wall of plastic flowers is just too pretty for me that I need to have an OOTD shot with it. However, please proceed with caution. I did this shot during an event that’s why I was allowed to take a photo. So, if your planning to have your OOTD photo here, be sure to ask permission first. Do it in a lowkey level such as using your phone only, not with big flashy cameras.

♥︎ Gaisano Mall of Davao ♥︎
To tell you honestly, Me and my friend, Sai Dayanghirang, just recently discovered this place. Even though, The Peak or the rooftop part of the mall is not new, we don’t go to this mall since it is usually packed of people. Thus, it’s really hard to get that perfect OOTD shot without distractions. However, if you’ll go during the weekdays at around 1-4pm, there will be a lesser crowd.

BONUS!!
♥︎ S&R Membership Shopping ♥︎
S&R Membership Shopping is not actually a mall. According to my 2 minutes research, it’s labeled as a shopping center. But since it mentioned shopping, I think it can be considered as a mall also. Well, that’s for me I guess. Haha!
I included S&R because their parking lot is definitely OOTD friendly. Their white walls are quite neat and also the patterns in it are definitely eye-catchy. If you want your outfit would be the star or focus of the photo, S&R parking lot would be the place to be!

The spots I mentioned above are public places. Meaning you should be mindful with your surroundings. So, here are some do’s and don’ts if your gonna take a picture in these places:
1. Don’t take your pictures too long because many people will be passing by.
2. Don’t be an obstruction.
3. Just do it lowkey.
3. Don’t be a showoff.
4. Do check the lighting. (perfect time to shoot is around 4-5pm)
5. If possible, Do ask permission first.
