I’ve been collecting BT21 stuff toys most especially BTS Jin’s character which is named RJ. BT21 RJ is just too cute to resist. I can’t say no to that face and as if the plushie is calling me to buy them. I’m really so in love with my collection that’s why I want to highlight my BT21 RJ Plushies Collection in this blog post.
Just a quick background of what BT21 is, it’s a special collaboration project of Line Friends Creators and the Korean boyband BTS created in September of 2017. Instead of the Line Friends creating an animated version of the boys, the company let the BTS members unleashed their own creativity and draw their own characters. In total, there are eight characters that represent each member: Koya(RM), RJ(Jin), Shooky(Suga), Mang(J-hope), Chimmy(Jimin), Tata(V), Cooky(Jungkook), and Van(ARMY). It was the year 2019 when I started collecting BTS and BT21 merchandise. I’ve been a lowkey fan of BTS for a long time now but I haven’t really got the budget to fully dive into merch collecting. It is mainly because my priority during those times is my travels. However, everything changed when I saw my very first RJ plushie.

My very first RJ plushie is very special to me. Not only because it was my first official merch ever, but I got it like it was meant to be for me. Well, it was during my first Japan trip way back in 2019. Me and my friend @xintaehyung didn’t have a specific itinerary. So, we just decided to walk around Harajuku on that certain day. We walked around randomly as we didn’t know where to go specifically. Then while looking around the busy city, I noticed that there was a Line Friends Store ahead. I was so excited and really surprised because I didn’t even think to research if there’s was one in Japan. So, I immediately told my friend that I must go inside and buy at least one BT21 stuff toy or key chain. And tada! I choose this cute RJ. I know it’s quite big and bulky but I managed to bring this cutie back home.

After I’ve purchased my first RJ stuff toy, I promised myself that I will save up so that I can buy more. And so my journey in RJ collecting began. When BT21 announced that they will release the RJ medium doll that Line Friends created it was only for Jin originally, I kinda felt an urge to buy it also. Jin loves his RJ so much and he always carries it with him. And because of that, RJ has been loved by so many ARMYs as well. It only shows Jin was very effective as an endorser as this doll was sold out in just 1 hour! I’m so happy that I got to place an order for the first batch.

The smallest in my collection! I love how small this one is as I can always include it as a prop for my product layout shoots. And since it was quite affordable, I also got the other characters in this size. This is also their first product in their Baby Collection.
♥︎ RJ Baby Jumbo Hug Me Cushion ♥︎
This RJ is my most favorite of them all! Mainly because it is so huggable. Since I got this, I cannot sleep without hugging this plushie. I love how cute (well as always) this RJ is. Also, it is so soft and cuddly. Even though I bought the Jumbo version, it is still the perfect size for me to hug.
♥︎ RJ Baby Charm ♥︎
Every Jin-biased ARMY owns at least one of this bag charm! It is because Jin always brings this one to fan meetings. This bag charm has become an iconic item since it has already appeared in different k-dramas, Korean movies, and even in Master Chef Indonesia. Who would have thought RJ is a superstar!
How did I get to purchase these products?
I mostly order my plushies through online group order shops mostly on Twitter and Instagram. I prefer group orders as it is cheaper in terms of shipping fee. Also, some shops offer long deadline of payment. But make sure you have fast and reliable internet as BTS and BT21 merch especially RJ most likely to be sold out in just the first hour of release. Thanks to PLDT Home stable connection, I’m always up to date and can purchase my merch before it will be all sold out.
And here it is! My collection may not be that big but I cherish each one of them. There are precious as I worked hard to earn money to purchase them. Each plushie has its own stories on how I got to acquire them. I’m so happy and felt blessed as not all fans have the opportunity to have one.
