I got nominated in Davao Blog Awards 2018!

Hi, sweeties! Your girl here, Sweetroxieee, got nominated in various categories for the the Davao Blog Awards 2018! Weee!! ♡

I have been a member of the Davao Bloggers Society for 2 years now, and it totally changed my life. I’ve become more sociable, outspoken, and brave. I can say that I have grown as a person. Surely, I have learn countless of lessons from my seniors and mentors not just about the blogging world but also in life.

Well, how can you not learn and be better if your working with a bunch of creative, supportive and loving people. If you have done something wrong or you lack on something, they’ll tell you and help you in an instant. It only depends on you if you’ll take it as an insult or as a constructive criticism.

This year was totally an unexpected one.

I became more passionate about blogging. I remembered during the new year’s eve I promised to myself to be able to blog more and become more open to other people.Then an opportunity came, little did I know, that opportunity that will change my blogging career.

For me being in the organization for 2 years, feels like I’m still a newbie. I still don’t have enough confidence to call myself as a legit blogger.  I just tell people that I’m doing it for fun. It’s because nowadays, people associate bloggers as famous people which is really a misconception of what a blogger truly is. That is what I’m trying to explain to others, which is the difference of a blogger and an influencer. That’s why I really didn’t expect that this opportunity will be offered to me.

This opportunity that I’m talking about is that, one of the Board of Trustees, asked me if I’m willing to be an officer, which is to be the Secretary. At first, I was quite overwhelmed. I felt scared. I felt that I’m not ready to accept such responsibility since I’m just starting to get to know how to be become a better blogger. But then, I just said to myself, I don’t want to miss an opened door again. I experienced something like this before and totally regretted it. So, I accepted it.

I was appointed as the Secretary of Davao Bloggers Society.

However, being an officer was not an easy job. We were always responsible for the whole organization. We must facilitate and be responsible for everything. It’s like the whole fate of the organization is in our hands. That’s why along with my co-officers, we double our effort in making in new connections for the organization’s welfare.

But also, I’m happy that I became an officer because it really pushed me to become better. Since I want to become a role model to others, I reached out more to people especially to the new members. It’s because I totally understand their state where they entered the organization without knowing anyone at all.  Plus, I became true to myself. I accepted myself of what I truly am. Before, I was kinda afraid to show my wacky side. Now, I just exposed everything. And I just think that if they accept me as what I am, I’m grateful and lucky. So far, I think, they just accepted me for what I am. Which is what I am looking at the moment.

Now, as 2018 ends, another unexpected thing happened.

I was nominated for various categories this Davao Blog Awards 2018, which are:

  1. Best Blog Design
2. Best Lifestyle Blog
3. Favorite Social Media Authority
4. Davao Blogger of the Year

 These nominations are truly a blessing. I didn’t expect it, especially the Davao Blogger of the year. Because, I felt that I was just an average(even below average blogger).

But then again, let’s just see the brighter side of life. My fellow nominees might be also doing so well, I’ll just look that this is just a start of something new. Meaning someone can see all my hard work in order to publish my content. Not just in my personal style blog, but I want to push the Davao Bloggers Society’s Channel to produce a Fashion related content such as lookbooks, tutorials and tips and tricks. This year, I started the lookbook content. I don’t know if it’s the 1st, but I’m still proud that I have able to produce 2 lookbooks which is the romantic valentine lookbook and the summer tropical lookbook.

I wanted to produce more lookbook this year but sadly, everyone became so busy with our personal life. But I think this could be a nice start. I believe, we’ll come back much stronger next year.

I’m truly grateful to everyone. A big thank you to all who read my blogs, watch my vlogs and like my IG and FB posts.
This nomination touched me very deeply. I know this is just a nomination, but for me, it’s really a big jump because now I know that all my hardwork are being recognized by some people. Hopefully, many people would also recognize it. Wish me luck, sweeties! ✌🏻✨
