During their recent Yet To Come in Busan concert, BTS Jin announced that he would release a solo single album. After J-hope’s successful album release, it is now Jin’s turn to share what he has been working on lately. BTS ARMY all over the world is so excited about it!
I just got back from my epic South Korea birthday trip, and much news from BTS has already bombarded me. First, I received a notification about their enlistment when I was lining up at the check-in counter at the Incheon airport. I felt sad about it, but I was already expecting it. Good thing they have mentioned that they are hoping to reunite in 2025. Then the next drop was the announcement of Jin’s first official solo single, entitled “The Astronaut,” on Weverse.
The Astronaut is a song with so much love and a special gift from Jin to his fans. A Weverse post revealed that it is co-written by all the Coldplay members, produced by Kygo and Bill Rahko, and has background vocals of Chris Martin and his son, Mosses Martin. Well, that’s one of a star-studded and powerhouse credit list! The solo album has two versions. It contains an outbox, a booklet, a lyric card, a postcard, a poster, two seal stickers, a graphic sticker, a photocard, and 1 CD.
Another surprise from Jin is that he announced that he would perform The Astronaut for the first time at Coldplay’s Concert in Argentina on October 29, 2022! Like, wow, that’s a way to promote a song. And please, I love how Chris Martin treats Jin like his brother. They’re so cute! Chris is whipped for Seokjin.
Also, Jin created a new character to help him promote his single. Meet Wooteo!! He’s a cute alien character who posts updates and hints about Jin’s song The Astronaut. Many fans said that he was created so that ARMYs and RJ would not be lonely when Jin enlists. There are also memes that Jin is replacing RJ, Jin’s BT21 character, who he loves so much. A Weverse reply from Jin also revealed that Wotteo was his idea. Jin is indeed a genius at creating cute and loveable characters. From his BT21 soldout RJ, Kore or the whale, Bangtani from the BTS Room curated for ARMY in BE, and now Wotteo.
